What is Confidence?
Confidence is the inner belief in our abilities, our worth, and our ability to take action – even when things feel uncertain.
It’s that feeling of walking into a room and owning your space. It’s having the courage to speak up, take risks, and go after what truly matters.
But confidence isn’t about knowing everything – it’s about trusting yourself to figure things out along the way.
How Do We Build Confidence?
Confidence isn’t something you’re simply born with – it’s built over time through:
Preparation & Mastery – The more we practise and refine a skill, the more we believe in ourselves.
Validation & Acknowledgment – Recognition from others can reinforce our belief in our impact.
Taking Action – Confidence grows when we do. Every small win strengthens our self-belief.
Resilience – Overcoming setbacks teaches us that we can handle whatever comes our way.
What Happens When We Lose It?
Losing confidence can feel like losing your spark.
Whether it’s rejection, failure, or just a string of bad days, self-doubt creeps in. Suddenly, your energy is low, and you start questioning if you’re really good at what you do.
Here’s the thing – confidence isn’t a permanent state. It fluctuates. The trick is knowing how to reignite it when it dims.
How to Rebuild Confidence
(Tried & Tested Strategies!)
If my confidence starts to slip, these are my go-to strategies:
1. Reflect on Wins – Write down three times you’ve succeeded in the past. Reconnect with those moments.
2. Move Your Body – Exercise, go for a walk, or even have a dance – physical movement shifts your energy.
3. Power Posing – Stand tall, shoulders back, feet grounded – your body influences your mind.
4️. Surround Yourself with Encouragement – Spend time with people who lift you up – mentors, clients, friends.
5️. Act Before You Feel Ready – Confidence follows action. Make the call, send the email, take the step
A Real-Life Example: Serena Williams
One of the most confident and resilient women in history is Serena Williams. From a young age, she faced criticism, obstacles, and immense pressure. But she never let doubt or negativity shake her belief in herself.
Serena owned her success before she had it. She spoke about being the best before the world recognised her as such. She worked harder than anyone else, and when she lost, she didn’t let it define her – she came back stronger.
Her confidence wasn’t just about winning titles; it was about knowing her worth, standing up for herself, and inspiring millions of women to believe in their own power.
She didn’t just change tennis – she changed the game of confidence.
My Story on Confidence: When I’m on Fire
There are moments when I feel unstoppable – when a client tells me how my work has changed their career, when a candidate lands their dream job because of my coaching, when I see real impact. At those times, my energy is electric.
But I’ve also had days where doubt creeps in – when things don’t go as planned, and I wonder, am I really making a difference? What always brings me back is validation. Knowing that my work matters, that it transforms lives -that’s my fuel.
The Power of Confidence: Your Vibe is Contagious
When you’re confident, you light up a room. People feel your energy, and it inspires them.
But confidence isn’t just for you –it’s something you can share.
Lift others, validate their efforts, recognise their talents. Because when you help someone else feel confident, you strengthen your own.
Final Thoughts: Own It!
Confidence isn’t a destination – it’s a practice. Some days you’ll feel unstoppable. Some days you won’t. But when you realise confidence is a skill you can build, you’ll never truly lose it.
So, stand tall. Take action. And remember – you’ve got this.
